IoT Power Monitoring for Micromobility

Power and Performance Monitoring for Micromobility

The wireless smart shunt device excels in remote monitoring of DC voltage, current, power, and energy consumption with an input range of 6V to 100V. It supports four programmable gain current ranges: -840A to +480A, -420A to +240A, -210A to +120A, and -105A to +60A, making it versatile for various sizes of electrical system monitoring.

With 4MB onboard data logging, you can store extensive data for detailed analysis. The high-performance three-axis linear accelerometer enhances motion detection and vibration analysis, vital for industrial and mobile applications. Optional CAN-FD support and external I2C sensor compatibility further extend its functionality, making it adaptable for diverse IoT applications.

The device features an Industrial IoT SIM chip with eUICC, providing 500 MB of data and 250 SMS for 120 months, and comes pre-provisioned for the Golioth IoT platform for global connectivity and immediate deployment.

The onboard nRF9160 SiP includes a multimode LTE-M/NB-IoT modem, supporting 700-2200 MHz with +23 dBm output power and power-saving features like eDRX and PSM. It also features a single pin 50 Ω antenna interface (SMA) and UICC interface. The integrated application processor, a 64 MHz Arm® Cortex®-M33 CPU, with Arm TrustZone® and Arm CryptoCell 310, provides secure and powerful computing.

Ideal applications include light electric vehicles (LEVs), eBikes, micromobility solutions, industrial IoT, and golf cart fleet tracking, ensuring optimal performance and data management across various fields.

Ready to Integrate with Golioth

The device can leverage Golioth Pipelines to route data from DC voltage, current, and power sensors to the cloud. This allows you to monitor data in real time and configure pipelines through a YAML file, enabling seamless data transformation and streaming to custom endpoints. Golioth Stream ensures reliable telemetry and logging, transmitting critical energy consumption data for light electric vehicles, industrial equipment, or fleet tracking applications.

With OTA (Over-the-Air) update capabilities, you can push firmware updates remotely to the smart shunt’s nRF9160 SiP, ensuring secure, up-to-date operation without physical intervention. This is critical for maintaining device security and performance in field-deployed applications like eBikes or industrial IoT setups.

The Golioth Device Settings feature allows for dynamic configuration of device parameters, such as current range thresholds or logging intervals. These can be adjusted remotely, giving you the flexibility to customize device behavior based on real-time needs.

Through Remote Procedure Calls (RPC), you can interact with the device in real-time, issuing commands such as resetting the device or adjusting accelerometer sensitivity. You can also remotely reset local Wh, Ah and other counters. This is especially useful for managing devices in remote or hard-to-reach locations, ensuring minimal downtime and responsive control.

Additionally, Golioth’s device management tools provide fleet monitoring and health tracking for applications such as golf cart fleets or micromobility solutions. You can monitor device status, configure alerts, and view real-time data via a web dashboard, enhancing operational efficiency.

In summary, Golioth’s platform offers a robust, secure, and flexible environment for managing your smart shunt device and supporting diverse industrial and IoT applications.
